We recently showcased a small snippet of ASOS Africa new collection but today we reveal a bit more to all you lovers. Read up on our report on SOKO here.

The direction has obviously changed aesthetically but the made in Africa element is stil there and going strong. SOKO have produced their fourth collection for the ever popular ASOS Africa – and it looks fantastic! (ASOS AFRICA available in the Green Room at ASOS.com), A/W11 presents a gorgeous, sophisticated new range based around a locally sourced print bought in Mombasa and includes quilting, bright jersey and heavy twills.

The colour palette for this playful and feminine collection is quite neutral, very soft but will alot of rich tones, softened with neutral shades. They have worked with SOKO to create exclusive hand-woven fabric for ASOS AFRICA in Mombasa with vibrant Kitenge prints from Tanzania. The accessories are from fair trade jewellery brand MADE (who also produce in Kenya) which compliments the clothing well.

SOKO continues to collaborate with Bedi and the Crochet Sisters, to maintains its work with ASOS Africa to provide vital employment to underprivileged communities in Kenya.

We at AFG are all in support of sustainable business models. ASOS reinvests into SOKO’s work not only by producing with them but by donating money back to them which enables them to keep paying their tailors and to maintain the premises in Ukunda, Kenya.

We are loving the coral colour jersey pieces. The quilted tank being our favourite as we know quilting is a big trend for this season AW11 – we could even have suggested some new innovative ways to have incorporated it too! ASOS we are here if you would like fresh designer eyes 🙂

Overall great work with this collection SOKO.

AFG readers do share your thoughts too – we want to hear from you too – what do you think of the new collection?
