Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} (BKFW) has been running since 2009 and is presented by non-for-profit organisation Brooklyn Style Foundation and is a new showcase for fashion talent and is known for providing a platform for some ground breaking design talent such as Edwing DAngelo (USA), Jay Wilson and Gavin Douglas, Das Komitee (Germany), Terri Steven (Project runway contestant) alongside Brooklyn’s own Joan Vaccianna, Alisha Trimbles, Samyo Lenko and Denisha White. Their aim is to promote emerging designers fashion collections from around the world in Brooklyn annually.
Brooklyn Style Foundation (BSF) was founded in 2004 as a platform for Brooklyn’s creative talent. BSF’s mission is to assist emerging, underprivileged designers in honing their talent and growing their business, and to provide a professional forum to showcase their creations alongside other emerging designers. Held in Brooklyn, a vibrant diverse borough of New York with lots of great eateries, restaurants, cool bars, and superb flea markets and amazing small boutiques for all you fashionistas it is definitely becoming the new fashion destination for cool new fashion talent and  innovation too.

This seasons theme is “Fashion Freedom™” and this Sept 26th to Oct 2nd 2011 will showcase  Spring/Summer 2012 Collections of these emerging designers.
