South African student fashion COMPETITIONS!

Posted on June 9, 2011

Here is another competition for you student designers.  It has AfricaFashionGuide written all over it (not literally people but wouldn’t that be fun…watch this space!)

This time a South Africa Fashion Week student design competition with an ethical focus being recycling.

The brief is to recycle an existing denim garment into a dress – it must be high design,  and deconstructed and must be a dress that is wearable. Any denim colour may be used but you must recycle it from an existing denim garment. They stress that you to pay attention to construction and quality finishing this is imperative. Deadline is Friday 29th July and final year students can apply but 1st year students can not apply. (sorry)

So get creative!

If you require more information then do send an email to and we can send over the full brief to you.
